Once the largest Apple Retail Store in the world, Apple Covent Garden was closed because of an all-new store with a Forum and the goal to accomplish the new retail vision. The reopening was on the 26 of October, 2018. But I did not attend the grand reopening of Apple Covent Garden. Here are some photos taken before the renovation process, which lasted four months and these photos were taken with an iPhone 7 Plus:
Apple created an even better Apple Covent Garden by debuting a refreshed design and surprised its customers by reopening on the same day as the iPhone XR launch in the UK. When you enter Apple Covent Garden, you are welcomed by a beautiful spiral glass stair and the new design vision for Apple Retail: the Forum with a 355-inch 8K Video Wall dedicated to immersive Today at Apple sessions. Behind the Video Wall, Apple filled one archway with matching bricks to create more symmetry.
It is always essential for Apple to maintain the historic character and architecture of its stores worldwide, and thus the exposed brick restored windows and more remain in the 19th-century building. Apple did not want to damage the brick walls, so they installed free-standing Avenues for many accessories. In contrast, approximately 1,2 miles away, Apple Regent Street has Avenues set into the walls. When Apple Covent Garden opened for the first time in August 2010, it had a large atrium in the center of the first floor, but it featured just Apple product tables. This atrium evolved into the Forum through the renovation process. The Forum also features six trees with the opportunity to sit on the side of their saddle brown tree pots, and Covent Garden has a unique bench with saddle brown leather as well.
The third floor includes a private meeting room, the Briefing Room. It features the same style and design as other renovated Board Rooms in Apple Retail Stores worldwide and inside Apple Park. Apple Covent Garden's Board Room has a unique feature: a historic fireplace. Before the reopening of Apple Covent Garden, a campaign featured some Today at Apple sessions created by the studio RUDE. This included graphic panels for a variety of Today at Apple sessions.
I wanted to show you more photos of Apple Regent Street in the gallery. I spend so much time inside this store; it almost feels like home. Whenever I am in London, I will visit it and spend some time there, maybe sometimes to enjoy the atmosphere. This section of Apple Regent Street also includes older photos and photos of the closed store for renovation when the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus were launched. Therefore some images were shot with an iPhone 7 Plus or newer.
Most of the photos in the gallery below were taken with an iPhone XS Max
